Welcome – 1 July 2018

“In returning and rest you shall be saved; in quietness and confidence shall be your strength” – Isaiah 30:15a

When storm clouds gather, it is wise to take note and make preparation – bracing for whatever seems to be coming at us. Knowing Jesus’ promise – “Lo, I am with you always, to the end of the age” – we can, and should, do this quietly, in confidence that He will take us through, conforming us to His character and working His glory.

And be aware of the sting in Isaiah’s subsequent text:

“But you would not, and you said ‘No, for we will flee on horses’ – therefore you shall flee!’”

Self-sufficiency feels powerful, but only God-sufficiency is rewarded. It’s called Faith.

Encourage one another today as you worship Him who loves us.
