Temptations to sin are sure to come, but woe to the one through whom they come! (Luke17:1)

Clearly not all sins are equal: giving way to sin is one thing, but leading others into sin gets Jesus’ special condemnation and warning of retribution. The media in particular are guilty of inviting us to revel in filth and violence, and young people are being primed for sin, especially in high school and university.

So we need to not only refuse to be drawn into slander, gossip, bitterness and lust, but we need to warn those who invite us and others into these things: we do them a favour when we do.

Leading a glad, bright, clean life is such a joy to self, to others and to the Lord.
