Not by might nor by power, but by my Spirit says the LORD Almighty. (Zechariah 4:6)

God’s emphatic Word to us is “not by might, nor by power”.

God has used humble men with no standing, ordinary folk with little equipment, unknown individuals with no social advantages as His instruments, and this inspires hope in all of us. The reason for God’s method is given very clearly, so that the exellency of the power may be of God and not of us, to save us from foolish and sinful pride, and to give the glory to Himself to Whom it is due. By the gentle working of His Spirit, by the influence of His Holy Word, and the testimony of His servants God saves the lost, calls out His church, and changes the face of the world. The work is God’s, the glory must be His also.

Lord use us! Even us as we share the gospel with a dying world.
