Isaiah's vision of the Lord revealed the Seraphim's worship of our Holy God, in response Isaiah said;
" Woe is me! For I am lost; for I am a man of unclean lips, and I dwell in the midst of a people of unclean lips; for my eyes have seen the King, the LORD of hosts!”
Then one of the seraphim flew to me, having in his hand a burning coal that he had taken with tongs from the altar. And he touched my mouth and said: “Behold, this has touched your lips; your guilt is taken away, and your sin atoned for.”
It was only after the coal touched Isaiah's mouth, that God spoke to Isaiah. This is emblematic of God's purifying work.
In a warm welcome to you all this morning, how blessed we are, purified by the atoning work of our Lord and saviour Jesus Christ. By His blood we are brought into the very presence of our God, into a personal relationship; A relationship where we are able to honour and worship in the Holy of Holies, where our Holy God speaks to us through His word and through His son. All thanks and Glory be to our God for his redeeming work. How blessed we are gathered in this place today, able to worship, able to receive from His precious word.
