We address God by various titles. Each one describes something about Him. This title is interesting, because it affirms to me that 'my righteousness' is only there because of Him – "O God of my Righteousness". He is the God who gives us Righteousness. As Romans 3:21 explains, this is a different, true righteousness, apart from our own merit, which comes by faith in Jesus Christ.

When we begin our prayers this way, "Answer me when I call, O God of my righteousness! ", we are admitting that the only reason God answers us, is due to the Righteousness we have by Jesus. What a magnificent thought, and a privilege we have to pray!
