Welcome 14 October 2018

“Surely, goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life..”

David the psalmist, overflowing with love for his God, wrote this, but his gripping story in the two books of Samuel show a man seldom far from conflict or danger. And when things were going well for him, he murdered one of his most faithful men to hide the fact that he had committed adultery with his wife. And the rest of David’s life was a sorrowful consequence of that and other sin. So was David right to say-

“and I shall dwell in the House of the Lord forever”?

Yes. Because Jesus was his Shepherd.

“Christ’s righteousness, imputed to us by God, totally restores to us what is lacking in this weak and mutilated righteousness of ours” – Peter Vermigli (1499-1562)

Welcome to this place of restoration!
