My stubborn will at last has yielded:
I would be Thine and Thine alone:
And this the prayer my lips are bringing,
“Lord let in me Thy will be done”
Sweet will of God, still fold me closer
‘Till I am wholly lost in Thee”
Leila Morris’ poignant hymn from 1900 resonates ever stronger for battered lives in these trying times. Let’s bring our stubborn wills to the Fountain of grace again – and again – and be folded ever closer to our loving Saviour. The stubbornness must yield, the joy increase as we gather in worship, fellowship, prayer and teaching.
